I'm rather impressed with the texture on these shaggy inkcaps.
They will be added to my list of things which inspire me to stitch. The ever growing list which one day I WILL get around to using.
.
A bit of this and a bit of that so that family and friends can keep in touch with some of the small things which happen in my world.

Rambo
He's only a youngster so he hasn't got his horns yet, but he his definitely a male sheep and he is called Rambo.
Alright, I know, it's not very original, but it suits him and that is what his name is going to be.
Here he is:-
He is supposed to be a doorstop, but someone has different ideas.
Ollie thinks that Rambo makes an excellent cushion and he thinks he may claim him for himself, but Doohie thinks not.
Another finished project. Top marks Elizabeth for guessing what he was going to be.

Is it for Christmas?
A project finished.
For the Christmas Tree? Maybe, I haven't decided.
Another project underway, but what is it going to be?
Watch this space.

Geese
I have been hearing the geese fly over for a few days now, mostly first thing in the morning or at dusk, coming from an easterly or north easterly direction. Last night I heard them fly over in the dark and this afternoon they have been coming steadily wave after wave. Every year I get the same feelings of excitment when I hear the geese and I get very emotional. It's a wonderful feeling welcoming the geese back for the winter and I often have a tinge of saddness when they leave again in the spring. I've tried taking a photo of them, but the sky is so grey and I didn't have my camera handy for the ones which flew closer. Alright I'm not a photographer, but I tried. :-)
Does anyone else get so excited when they hear the geese coming that they do a dance around the kitchen shouting "the geese are here, the geese are here" or am I just strange?

How Did they Get Up There?
"Hang on a minute! Am I seeing things?"
"No, I'm not seeing things"
"Mum, Mum, some of my toys are hanging in the air"
"I can't reach them"
"Mum, Mum, Come quick, I want my toys."

An 'Endangered Species'.
I think it became extinct this month.
There it is, can you see it hiding behind the tree. Hiding to no avail. I'm told by a friend of a friend that the axe has fallen.
The mobile library.
It's demise won't affect me, because I couldn't use it. It made me dizzy. I used to go on board to pick up an elderly lady's books and my head would swim and if I lingered too long I would feel nauseous. Every time someone moved or a vehicle passed by, the van would rock and I was hanging on to the shelves. Would you believe it, travel sickness in a stationary library van.
My 92 yr. old neighbour is going to miss it a great deal though. It stops right outside her door so that she doesn't have to carry heavy books. She reads a lot and gets half a dozen books every three weeks. It seems that a service is going to be available for someone to deliver some books for her to read, but that won't be the same as choosing her own reading material, nor does it replace the social occasion which the van provided for her.
The 'Old Grump' say's it reminds him of an episode of 'Steptoe and Son' where Harold fetches Albert some books from the library and Albert says, "Read it, read it, I don't like him, read it. That was a waste of time wasn't it".
Government cuts - I wonder where the axe will fall next?

All in a Spin.
I've always wanted to have a go and now 'Dizzy Daughter' has made a wish come true. She treated me to a spinning lesson.
That's me spinning.
Dizzy had a lesson as well.
My results were, errmm, variable.
Washed and hung out to dry.
The 'Old Grump' held the hank for me whilst I wound a ball.
Knit a line, purl a line. I wish I'd used a bigger needle.
What on earth am I going to do with this?
Interesting texture!
Can you guess what the latest addition to my wish list is?

An Eviction
She was in my kitchen. I'm afraid she had to go.
Look at what she was carrying. She definitely had to go.
Last seen carrying her egg sack off into the bushes at the farthest end of the garden.

HEATHER
The North Yorkshire Moors.
My favourite place to visit.
Always different.
Always beautiful.
I had to include a sheep photo. It wouldn't be the moors without one.

The Fire Pit.
I managed to send the 'old cronk' (my computer) into a spin yesterday. It refused to do anything at all, including switching off. It had a tantrum because I asked it to do two things at once. Luckily after having a rest it has decided to work again.
I was going to post about the best outing of all which we had when M&K were here. That was a family get together at my brother's house. Good company, good food and the fire pit. Oh yes, the fire pit. Everyone loves the fire pit.
Some of the good food.
A shower didn't dampen spirits.
Toasting marshmallows.
A good blaze.
On and on - -
into the night.
Oh yes, everyone, without exception loves the fire pit.
