Swede/Turnip

I know that this is a swede, but I'm sure that when I was a little girl we called it a turnip. Is it all in my imagination?

  1. Hello Doohie,
Now, firstly, thanks for reading/following my old blog. It is always nice to welcome new friends. :)

Secondly, may I wish you best of luck with your blog. At first I had trouble thinking of things to write about but after a while you will find that subjects just 'turn up'.

That to me is a swede (and always has been) but it was in the news lately, I think in relation to what goes into a Cornish Pasty?
I can't remember exactly, but I think it was because in Cornwall they call a Swede -
    - a Turnip!
Now in Scotland, they call turnips just "neeps" and have them with Haggis. (and so do I).
    Cheers....Bernard.
