I can't believe it's six weeks since my last post, where did that time go? What I didn't say back then, was that, just four days after the earthquake, I was supposed to be travelling to Japan to attend my son's wedding ceremony. What with the tragedy unfolding in the north of the country, numerous aftershocks, the threat of radiation and rolling powercuts, it was decided that the best thing to do was postpone the wedding. Our trip to Japan was cancelled.
However, food had already been purchased for an evening celebration which had been planned. So M and K (my son and daughter in-law) decided to turn their party into a fund raising event. 'Bring a Can of Food Party' was born. They managed to fill twelve boxes with food to send to the stricken area and also raised funds for the Red Cross. I am very proud of them for turning a negative situation into a positive one.
They have since been involved with another fund raiser at which they managed to fill eighty boxes with food.
Well Done M and K.
Yes you SHOULD be proud of these two lovely young people and their generosity. I pray that you will get to visit them soon, and all the wedding celebrations will still take place.
ReplyDeleteI am so thrilled they were kept safe, and send them good wishes for their future.
EASTER BLESSINGS XX
Thankyou Angela, Yes, the wedding celebrations have been re-scheduled for September and they are coming here to see us in August, so we are looking forward to that.
ReplyDeleteWell done for them. You have every right to be proud of them both for their unselfish act.x
